Off Trail Erosion

For solo Cello | 7’45” | 2019

Program Notes: There are two types of hikers in this world, those that are hiking to enjoy fitness, and those that want to stop and smell the roses. Off Trail Erosionexplores the tension that occurs when two people try to have the hiking experience they want, but can’t seem to agree on the pace or the reason for the trip. Off Trail Erosion refers to this tension, and also the erosion that occurs when hikers venture off the beaten path causing literal erosion of the trail.

Dedication: for Jacob Poteet
