Kitchen Telephone Music

Year: 2020 | Duration: Open | Instrumentation: Voice & Any Number of Instrumentalist | Difficulty: Easy - Hard

Description

Kitchen Music is inspired by all the time we have been spending in our kitchens since Covid started. It is meant to be performed as a layered piece where each person responds to someone else’s kitchen in their kitchen. We have also been communicating with technology more, and in a recent conversation I had, I discovered that others are actually thankful to have conversations with folks via phone instead of video due to the constant barrage of zoom meetings, so it is also influenced by the popular children’s game telephone.

Note: This piece is written for performers of all skill levels. I encourage professionals and beginners alike to consider it as there are multiple ways to engage with the score. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
